  The Ottawa City Commission recently proclaimed April as National Poetry Month and also honored outgoing Kansas Poet Laureate Wyatt Townley. From the left,are City Commissioner Shawn Dickinson, Townley, who received both proclamations; former interim city public works director Bill Ramsey, who is a member of the Kansas Humanities Council board of directors, which conducts the poet laureate program,  and Tony Brown, who is also a member of the Kansas Humanities Council board as well as chair of the Ottawa Municipal Auditorium Authority.  At the same meeting, the commissioners recognized Ramsey for serving as interim public works director.
